In-depth Review of Rabbit Air MinusA2 Air Purifier:

Here are the top features of Rabbit Air MinusA2.

Superior 6-stage Filtration

Indoor airborne particles are generally ranked in size – from smallest to largest. They include fibers, mold spores, pet dander, dust, smoke particles, and others. You may have contaminants infiltrating indoors from the outdoors.

Such pollutants include pollen, vehicle exhaust, smoke, and other combustion sources. These particles are commonly categorized into coarse particles (PM 10), fine particles (PM 2.5), and ultra-fine particles (PM 1).

To remove these particles from the air, air purifiers have multi-stage filtration systems. This air purifier is no exception. It has a six-stage filtration system made up of:

  • Permanent pre-filter for larger particles
  • Medium filter for medium particles
  • BioGS HEPA filter for tiny particles
  • Customized filter for odors
  • Activated carbon filter for odors and gases
  • Negative ion generator for boosting particle filtration

The permanent mesh pre-filter is in the first stage of mechanical filtration. It traps larger pollutants such as pollen, pet dander, lints, and dust. As the pre-filter is washable, you will enjoy the fresh air after each cleaning.Rabbit Air MinusA2 Filters

After the pre-filter, you have the medium filter to remove particulate pollutants. The filter not only catches particles but also protects the main HEPA filter.

At the third stage, you have BioGS HEPA Filter. It traps pollutants 0.3 microns in size with a 99.97% efficiency. Unlike the traditional HEPA filter, the electrostatically-charged BioGS HEPA filter prevents any growth of microorganisms inside.

After the HEPA filter, you have the customized filter made up of a variety of filters. As bonus filters, they have a different proprietary coating to trap and remove specific contaminants.

Available custom filters include:

  1. Germ defense filter – traps airborne bacteria and microorganisms.
  2. Toxin absorber filter – traps VOCs and other chemicals.
  3. Pet allergy filter – removes pet dander and odors.
  4. Odor remover filter – removes odors from mildew, cigarettes, and pets.

The last filter is a pellet-based activated carbon filter. The activated carbon pellets are good odor neutralizers. This type of carbon filter is far better than an impregnated carbon sheet filter.

Lastly, we have a negative ion generator. This generator produces odorless and invisible molecules to boost the particle filtration rate.

Aesthetics

The Rabbit Air MinusA2 Air Purifier has the following dimensions: 20 inches height by 21.4 inches wide by 7 inches depth. Weighing 19.4 pounds, it comes in two color editions: Black and White.

There are three models on offer with the same weight and dimensions:

  • SPA-700A (max airflow 187 cfm)
  • SPA-780A (max airflow 218 cfm)
  • SPA-780N (Wi-Fi enabled)

In our Rabbit Air MinusA2 review, we will be looking at the SPA-780A model. The air purifier is available in a flat and square shape, which makes it easy to access the controls.

We liked the air purifier because Rabbit Air managed to fit several features in the build. The controls are on the right side, with one LED bar at the center. This LED light indicates when the air purifier is ON or OFF.

We did not like the buttons because you need to push them down a little harder. Since this a wall-mounted version, we fear that using more pressure could damage the controls.

Another feature we liked is the artist series. Basically, Rabbit Air incorporated different arts from Van Gogh to Claude Monet. So, when you run your air purifier, you can turn it into picture art. This adds beauty and brightens your living space.

You need to know that the air purifier comes with a removable floor stand and the optional wall mounting bracket.

How to wall mount Rabbit Air MinusA2:

CADR and Room Coverage

The Rabbit Air MinusA2 (SPA-780) has a maximum CADR of 218 CFM. With this rating, the air purifier can filter the air in a large 410 square feet room 4 times in an hour at the highest setting. Check out more room size recommendations below.

To protect your family, run the Rabbit Air MinusA2 Air Purifier 24/7 at lower settings. You can place it in your living room or bedroom where you spend your time most.

Sensors

Rabbit Air MinusA2 has two air quality sensors. One is to detect particles, and another one is for odors. These sensor helps to change the fan speed automatically based on the pollution level. It also has an onboard air quality indicator that changes from blue to red depends on the indoor air quality.

The air purifier also switches to sleep mode based on the darkness in the room, which is very convenient. In sleep mode, all indicator light turns OFF.

Low Noise Profile

If you consider the air purifier’s filtration system and size, you will assume that it produces a lot of noise during operation. Well, you will be surprised to know that it’s one of the quietest models.

It has a noise level of 25.6 dB(A) at the lowest fan setting and 51.3 dB(A) at the highest fan setting. The reason why is because it comes with a brushless DC motor.

This means the air purifier will not interfere with your sleep or conversations. Don’t worry about the LED light, either. The light sensor cuts back on light pollution automatically. It dims the light when the room darkens.

Suitable Room Size for Rabbit Air MinusA2:

*The room size calculation is based on an ideal situation. For best practice, consider the size of the room a little less than the calculated value.

If you have higher ceilings, then use our Air Changes per Hour Calculator to calculate the suitable room size.
